The Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association recently declared November 3rd International Speculative Poetry Day. Founded in 1978, it has as an international membership representing over 19 nations and cultures. The Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association publishes two journals: Star*Line and Eye to the Telescope. They also publish an annual page of speculative poetry readings for Halloween. The SFPA oversees three major literary awards for poetry: The Rhyslings, the Dwarf Stars, and the Elgin Awards. This is the first year they have recognized International Speculative Poetry Day.
